My Musings

OHMYGOD. What a rollercoaster this was. It took me a long time to finish it (a whole week) but to be honest I just didn't want it to be over because this is the last book out and now I have to wait until Queen of Shadows comes out in September 1st.

I have to say I personally did not enjoy the parts with Manon, I found myself counting down the pages until I reached someone else's point of view again. But again, that's just me. Other than that, the plot was WILD. There is something going on from the very beginning of the book and there just isn't a dull moment. In fact I have SO MANY bookmarks of this book, it's crazy.

Celaena/Aelin. Oh I fell in love with her in this book. Her character development was just breathtaking. I found myself astonished by the changes in her, mentally and physically. I loved how she hit bottom and then she picked herself back up. I think that is one of the most beautiful things to witness in a story. A character who stops feeling sorry for themselves and realizes that there is still hope. That is maybe the main reason why this is my favorite book of this series.

Rowan Whitethorn. I need more chapters written told from his point of view because I don't want to judge im without knowing his intentions first. At the beginning I wasn't very fond of him, to be honest. But then, his actions, 'little' gestures here and there made me progressively fall in love with him. So protective of Aelin, oh my lord and at the same time he isn't afraid to put her in her place and I love that about their relationship, it's a mutual thing.

I so cannot wait to get the next book because DORIAN AND CHAOL. This reminds me, I am so sad about their relationship and the way things went down in this book for them, especially for Dorian (!!!) but I know that there is a bond between them and it can't just go away, can it? *bites nails* There is so much to look forward to, so many OMG moments in this book that led to certain circumstances, and they make for a fascinating and captivating book. One of my favorites, ever.

  1. YAY! I'm so super glad that you loved this book :D It's my favourite in the series so far, other than THE ASSASSIN'S BLADE, because S A M <3 I adored him.

I loved the character development in this book for Celaena, it was absolutely incredible. When there were flashbacks and whatnot, and she was in so much pain, I was literally tearing up for her. She's just so badass, and yet at the same time she is so vulnerable.

I didn't like Manon's chapters to begin with, but I have to say she really grew on me! I loved her interactions with Abraxos, I thought they were super cute.

Rowan is a god, and I adore him. Enough said.

DORIAN AND CHAOL, THE PRECIOUS. I love Dorian so much more after reading this book, and I just hope eveything ends up okay for him.

I hope you're reading QUEEN OF SHADOWS now! :D <3
