Words inspire me. They fill a void in me and some words are so precious that I wish I could keep them in my heart or get them inked on my forehead. But since I can't do either I thought I would start with this new 'section' on my blog, a space to share quotes that are meaningful to me. The words to live by. (cheeeeeeese) And also because I have been inspired by bloggers such as Chiara, who also posts quotes every Sunday in her meme Simply Sunday.

I want to start this meme (I think that's what this is called) with a quote by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, who I think said this in her TED talk, "We should all be feminists".

To this day, I still read this and feel inspired, I feel like I am seeing the world in a new way. I discovered this a while ago, but I love it so much that I want to share it with you. Had you read it before? Do you love it as much as I do?

  2. YAY for this new feature! :D And thank you for linking me; I'm glad to have inspired you ^.^ <3

This quote is awesome, and makes me want to watch the video in which it is said. I feel that we are given so many different standards, just because we are female. It's pretty darn upsetting, I must say. I hope one day that things change, and we are ALL held to the same standards, and taught the same things, and all treated with respect. That would be amazing.

    1. It makes me sooo happy to see you commenting, since you were one of the inspirations, awwww :3

I can't believe there was a time in which I wasn't aware of the amount of double standards we are held to, just because we are female. I am so thankful to some of my professors and to the Internet.

Imagine what you just described! That would be so incredible awesome! But I feel like we still have a long way to go. We need so much more education. I'd love to contribute something, somehow. Sigh.

Thank you SO MUCH for contribuing, Chiara!! :)
