Title: The Dream Thieves
Author: Maggie Stiefvater
Published: September 17th, 2013 by Scholastic Press.
Now that the ley lines around Cabeswater have been woken, nothing for Ronan, Gansey, Blue, and Adam will be the same. Ronan, for one, is falling more and more deeply into his dreams, and his dreams are intruding more and more into waking life. Meanwhile, some very sinister people are looking for some of the same pieces of the Cabeswater puzzle that Gansey is after...
My Musings
I must admit it took me a while to really get into it. Like maybe there was soo much going on. The Gray Man, Declan, Kavinsky, Ronan, Adam, Blue, Gansey, sometimes I wanted to scream. And for a good portion of the book you're just not hooked in it. You know how you can't stop reading a book? Well that wasn't the case here, at least for the first half of it.
However, what I am really happy about is the amount of Ronan we got! In the first book we see him as someone with quite a temper, and just very misterious. But here we get to see that he will do pretty much everything for the people he loves. Can we talk about his gesture towards Adam? "But one of the marvelous things about being Ronan Lynch was that no one ever expected him to do anything nice for anyone." That quote just broke me because it's true. Also he is so protective towards his brother Matthew and towards Chainsaw too, that's just lovely.
So much angst with Blue and Adam, I must admit I don't care about them at all because based on the predictions Gansey is her true love and she can't kiss her true love or she is going to kill him. So everytime Adam and Blue fought I just thought 'well... poor Adam, now Blue go have some sort of interaction with Gansey. But don't kiss him'. I know, judge me. Most of the time Adam pissed me off because I don't think Gansey is trying to be the boss intentionally, they all work as complements, the pieces of a puzzle that somehow fit together.
Blue, my baby Blue. I want to hold her and tell her things are gonna be okay. The moment she shared with Noah in Monmouth Manufacturing was magical, firstly because of the realization she had. And secondly for what she and Noah did. Too cute omg. Still admiring her ability to stay true to her wishes and beliefs. That moment between Gansey and Blue still makes me sigh and smile. Sweet, sweet torture.
The final pages were soooooooooo good. And it ended on a cliffhanger, surprise surprise, which is why I already started Blue Lily, Lily Blue. I give The Dream Thieves 4,5 stars!
Have you read this book? What are your thoughts on it?! Until next time!
It sounds like this is one series that's best read 'all at once', that way the multiple POVs won't get confusing and drag out you of the story. This series definitely sounds amazing, I've got it on my TBR but not started it yet. I wasn't a particular fan of Shiver, so I guess that's why...
ResponderEliminarYou have to read these!! The story really is amazing and you will fall for the characters, I know it. Thank you for stopping by, Annette! :)
EliminarYour reviews are making me want to read this ASAP it's been on my TBR for a while but i have a long way to go before i can read it
ResponderEliminarWhy do you have a long way to read it?! You have to ASAP. They're so incredibly good. Thank you for stopping by, Meedah :)
EliminarYay, I'm glad you liked this one :D
ResponderEliminarI agree that it wasn't un-put-downable like the first one. I didn't like it quite as much, even though there was more RONAN and we discovered Pynch. I just didn't feel like it had the same sort of magic as THE RAVEN BOYS. But I still loved it.
BLUE LILY, LILY BLUE is gorgeous, and I hope you love it :D
I'm sooo glad that someone agrees with me! Yeah I don't know why I wasn't as hooked. But BLLB!! Oh my. I think it's my favorite one now. Blue and Gansey KILL ME. Thank you for taking the time to comment, Chiara! :)
